Anobis has long been a world divided. The population is roughly split between two groups: miners heavily dependent in interstellar trade for their livelihood, and farmers who feel self-sufficient and resent any external intrusion in their way of life.
Though the world was never the most peaceful, the last years have seen those tensions escalate. The rise of the empire brought about a series of self-serving local governors, most of whom riled up local rivalries to keep the population busy harming each other, while they could continue to exploit and tax them. After the Battle of Endor, the planet became a part of Warlord Zsinj's empire, and that practice only worsened, now in an atmosphere of heightened chaos and doubt.
Most of the spaceports in the planet are built around miner settlements, and for months now they have been turning their profits towards forming a small, irregular army. This fact is aided by Zsinj tacitly supporting the miners, as they supply his empire with valuable ores, while the farmers are mostly irrelevant for his rulership.
For their own part, the farmers are performing ever more daring raids, and those raids seem increasingly better coordinated and armed. Someone is training and arming them, though it remains unknown who it could be.
