[TL; DR: The Inquisition explores Listehol and inquisitor Ky-Lee Marr interrogates Jira Thrane. Gale Marai listens in. It can be assumed that a fair few people are going missing in the planet as the inquisition takes them for questioning]
[0:04:07]NPC Repository: It was early night in Listehol, not the safest time to be around. Open firefights had ceased being common over the past week, as the local gangs slowly started to settle into a new equilibrium, but that really only meant that the violence had been pushed towards the night-time, and made subtler. The ancient dark metal spaceport sat at the center of the city, red lights glowing around it's top, looking like some malignant temple presiding over the never-ending chaos.
There were few inquisition operatives on the ground. After the recent debacles, Sariss had decided that it was wisest to send on the most insidious, the most capable at stealth. One currently passed as a bum, leaning against a blocked doorway in the poor districts of the city, another passed as a rough-and-tumble space captain and did the rounds at the spaceport and trade hubs, pretending to look for good deals. Where those two failed to cover, a stealth operative clung to rooftops and dark alleys. Coverage was far from complete with so few men, but it was a good set of eyes, and all of them had encrypted comm-lines linked directly to Ky-Lee. Their instructions was to keep their cover and avoid conflict if at all possible: Ky-lee and a shuttle currently sitting just outside the star system in the interstellar void were the vanguard should the spotters find anything worth investigating on ground or above it.
[0:17:38]Ky-Lee Marr: Ky-Lee had no reason to distrust the agents on the ground, but in sensitive matters like this it was best not to leave anything to chance, and she found simply being outside the system was not good enough. She stepped off the shuttle almost as soon as it had landed giving a careful glance around her surroundings, a seemingly pointless gesture given her lack of eyes. But nothing was wasted when it came to her, and certainly not motion. She began to make her way out of the spaceport proper, toward a local safehouse so she could be briefed in person about the situation here.
[0:21:56]Jira Thrane: Jira had stayed out too late trying to follow up one last lead on the item she sought before moving on the greener pastures. It had been a mistake. Even before the sun had started it's trek towards the horizon she had been feeling uneasy, the fine hairs on the back of her neck under her messy blonde mane had been standing on end. Leaving one of the few 'reputable' watering holes she started towards the star port proper, navigating the main thoroughfares rather than her usual shorter and narrower paths. To make matters worse she hadn't been able to even find cargo to take off world, which in the back of her head nagged at her. she had been here too long and had nothing to show for it from a cover story perspective. Unknowingly she passed under the gaze of the third agent, walking casually with the flow of human traffic.
[0:32:43]NPC Repository: Ky-Lee's comm came alive, the voice of one of the three men who had been down on the ground, "a likely lead is on the move." The low, hushed voice made it easy enough to tell which one was speaking, so she didn't even have to check the comm to make sure, "been in-system since all the messes started. Claims to be a tradeship captain, but most of those left once the firefights started. Heading to the starport now."
There were two possibilities here: either this was a tradeship captain really down on her luck and scrambling for any cargo to haul, to the point of sticking around in a world that had just boiled over with violence, or she wasn't. If the later was the case, this was a person of interest. If the former, then she wouldn't be missed.
Inquisition agents were known for their ruthlessness, after all.
For as long as Jira stayed within his line of sight, which was a fair portion of the way to the starport, the agent on the rooftops kept giving directions for her. Only once she was good and out of sight did he settle back to silent observation of the crowd for more possible targets.
[0:41:34] Ky-Lee Marr wasted no time, not even with a reply. She began to cut through whatever hallways and back alleys she needed to to close distance on the target, and shoulder checked more than a couple of people as she did so. She soon found herself in the same general area as Jira and began to make her way through the crowd toward her, prepared to apprehend her by any means possible if she had to. She felt a simple greeting would do for now, however. "Good evening." she said as she came to stand directly in front of Jira. "Nice night for a walk.”
[0:48:02]Jira Thrane: Jira did end up staying in the agent's line of sight for quite some time, just casually taking her time like most of the traffic in the area. She even stopped for a few minutes at a street vendor's stall to order a bite of something to eat, standing there for several long moments while her food was quickly grilled and put on a stick for easy on the go consumption. She had just set back on her way, stuffing her face when Ky-lee seemed to merge from the crowd. Quickly swallowing what she had in her mouth she replied, speaking in the backwater drawl she had been using since she arrived. "It'sa shite night for a walk. You ain't lookin' for a ride off this rock, are ya?" Externally she had the swagger of a captain, even if all the alarms were going off in her head that this was trouble incarnate.
[1:13:21]Ky-Lee Marr: "I'm looking for some answers, and I can tell you have them." She replied evenly and nodded off toward a side street that contained a small cafe. "There are two ways this ends. You coming along willingly and answering my questions and being set free, and you making a scene and me taking you in anyway. The second option is a lot less comfortable for you, all told.”
[1:18:48]Jira Thrane: "Sheeeee-yet." That was the first word, said as two, that left the blonde's mouth. It was obvious that she had lost her appetite, though her tossing her only just started kebab to the gutter made it transparent. "I don't want no trouble with the LazerLords. I'll go all nicely..." She was familiar with the street. "After me I guess?" The only obvious weapon the blonde had was the modified heavy blaster on her thigh, but the holster was snapped down closed to secure it. She would comply, hoping to talk her way out of this mess. She took strides down the street, peeking over her shoulder at Ky-lee as she headed towards the cafe she had spotted.
[1:36:19]Jira Thrane: "Sensitive, like Tibanna?" She was playing dumb... but in a believable way. There was no way this person could have known what she had stolen from the Hutts, right? And she didn't look like a bounty hunter. "I haven't shipped any of that in months, too many people ask questions when you've got a hold full of carbonate sealed TIbanna during a war…"
[1:41:12]Ky-Lee Marr: "It would be a mistake to try and lie to me." Ky-Lee said simply and raised a hand, enveloping Jira's neck in a clasp of telekinetic energy. It wasn't enough to do any harm, but it was certainly noticeable and would serve as a dire warning. "The package." she repeated and stepped forward. "Where is it?”
[1:45:32]Jira Thrane: Now she was in trouble. She had a trump card still; everyone had an eye out for some boogey man jedi after all. She didn't want to play it yet, even as she felt the pressure around her neck. "I don't got no package!" She cried out, both hands going to her neck to try and pry away the invisible hand. This was going south fast.
[1:54:29] Ky-Lee Marr released her from the grip and took a step back. "That much is obvious, but you know where it is. I will give you one more chance to tell the truth before I simply take it from you." she was losing patience, considering the time sensitive nature of her work here.
[1:57:03]Gale Maral: So, the deals had been signed, show of force and a little light fire support. It was not, what one would call an admirable career. At all. Which meant right now, she was feeling little pinpricks of hate and anger directed at herself and was thus drinking something that could, in it's most charitable, be described as alcohol. It wasn't good. It was not good at all.
And then the grunting, swaggering thug made his appearance at her table, grinning in a fashion that Gale just knew was going to end poorly for everyone involved... Long story short it did not end well at all. Surprisingly not because of anything she did, but instead some other idiot who had 'called dibs' and well, she'd slipped out the back in the ensuing bar fight.
[2:02:37]Jira Thrane: "I... alright. I'll tell ye wha' I know..." She glanced around, peering down at the side alley of one of the buildings. "S-so I can tell ya, private-like..." She slowly took a few steps into the alley way, keeping an eye over her shoulder. When they were well on their way down it she turned around, making a slow, deliberate motion with her left hand to her right sleeve, starting to roll it up. Slowly the tattoo there would be exposed, an Imperial insignia centered on the inside of her forearm with three triangular blades radiating out from it. When she spoke again the drawl was gone, but the stress remained in her voice. "We're on the same mission...Inquisitor. The package was taken here...and from the last major clash that happened? The contents were thawed." That much was true. And in the ensuing fight caused by the Jedi all reports didn't place Jira at the scene.
[2:10:23]Gale Maral: Spotting a pair slinking off conspiratorially into the alleyways, with one radiating the Force like a migraine at her skull, Gale just kept low and quiet, doing an excellent job of feigning disinterest. (She was a practiced hand at that, her childhood had depended on it.) Her own Force given talents were subtle and quiet by comparison to the, ah, display. Without actually using them she was exceptionally easy to overlook.
So the two dipped out and well... curiosity might have killed the cat, but it certainly paid the merc. So, just out of sight she lingered and listened.
[2:16:40]Ky-Lee Marr: The next few moments were filled with stoic silence from Ky-Lee as she weighed in on what was just revealed to her. She could detect no deception from the woman, alot of anger obviously, but nothing to lead her to believe she was being lied to. And the facts as they stood were not improbable given just how vast the Empire's intelligence agencies were. She gave a slow nod. "My apologies, agent." she remarked and slowly extended a hand as a means of a peace offering, though she looked over her shoulder ever so slightly, sensing they were not entirely alone out here...
[2:21:22] Jira Thrane quickly went to roll her sleeve back down to hide the tattoo. There was just a hint of relief in her voice as to went back into the drawl. "...Accepted, ma'am. I'll take it as a sign of a job well done. "" There was just a hint of hesitation as she reached out to take the hand in her own, giving it a soft squeeze of acceptance before letting go, following the Inquisitor's gaze.
[2:26:15]Gale Maral: Gale wasn't anywhere near the low rent tracker that passed for... that around here. No peeking around the corner, she watched the blurred reflections on a metal wall, little more than faint shadows really, and listened carefully. Nothing more. Nope, no one there, just your Sith fueled paranoid imagination, please do go on back to sharing your dark and terrible secrets. Preferably ones that can be exchanged for credits to the right brokers.
[2:34:12]Ky-Lee Marr: Ky-Lee thought she could detect something...but remembered it may be just the woman in front of her. The Order of the Emperor made sure all of it's members were at least somewhat attuned to the Force, and that was obviously the case now. She turned to face her entirely and ignored the alleyway behind her. "We need to find the package before it gets off world.”
[2:37:39]Jira Thrane: "I'm worried it already has. See" She was full swing in the drawl now, starting to speak more softly. "The local authority lost a gunship after the last fire fight. That was the last time the package and an accomplice were last seen on world...Though they don't want admit it. Big blow to pride…"
[2:43:53]Gale Maral: Mmm, delicious secrets. Eyes flicked around, plotting out an escape route should the two come back this way, but beyond that, this was delightfully uncomplicated.
[2:53:22]Ky-Lee Marr: "It hasn't. I have sensed it here in the Force." she remarked onn the matter simply. "But time is not an asset we have on our side. If the package escapes this system, it may be impossible to recapture it. The galaxy is not the same as it once was, the Empire...is not the same as it once was." she frowned at that, the distress in that notion obvious.
