[2:21:13]Seras y Alta: The Vengeance dropped out of hyperspace into the outer system, some hours away from Bastion. Limping along, half the ship was underpowered, and that included most of the weapons and shields. Not enough crew to bring it all online safely. Taulos, the old Engineering crew chief had managed to work miracles as it was. There had been a few more survivors, other holdouts from Fallon or Hesch's factions. Hesch's survivors, a few dark jedi who were not Inquisitors, naughty Jerec, along with some other Inquisitors of low rank and power were still obnoxious thorns that had resulted in minor skirmishes throughout the flight, as well as sabotage and assassination.
However, that thorn had been pulled when the three more powerful of the surviving dark Jedi had turned on their erstwhile companions in exchange for jobs under Seras. At the lowest level, but it beat being spaced, asphyxiated or having Ky-Lee unleashed on them. Seras had taken to using her companion on this little voyage as something of a sledge to problems. "So, were you expecting anything for this little bit of gigalarceny, or just a pat on the back?" she asked Ky-Lee as Bastion, still distant but close enough now, came into view. The ship was screaming it's new ownership loud and clear to the system authorities. Super Star Destroyer or not, they were in no shape to fight.
[2:29:16]Ky-Lee Marr: She had recovered from her wounds fully thanks to Seras and her mood seemed to have improved a bit during the journey to Bastion, perhaps on account of a hot meal and a decent few nights of rest. She was still as stoic and withdrawn as ever though. "I wasn't expecting anything at all Seras y Alta, though if you are in a giving mood, I will gladly accept whatever it is you have to offer." She replied.
[2:34:38]Seras y Alta: "If you are expecting a job with the Archive, then I am afraid I will be a disappointment there. You do not have the temperment. Better, improving perhaps even still. But frankly, you are as likely to go out in a murderous rampage as improve." The conversation was dropped on Ky-Lee as dispassionately as though she was critiqueing her choice of shoes. "Beyond that, I will not rob you of the credit. You found it, realized Jerec had kicked the can." Left unsaid was that was the limit of her planning, it was clear to Seras that Ky-Lee had no real conception of the scale of what she had been trying to grab. Hell, the 400 troops and techs she'd brought herself would have really only sufficed to hold the ship powered and to keep it from crashing into anything. More to just buy time till more resources could have been directed at it.
[2:43:04]Ky-Lee Marr: "I didn't expect you would reward me with a position in your court Seras y Alta. Your poor opinion of me is warranted, I grant you." She replied with a shrug and a hint of something in her voice. Sadness, anger? Mixture thereof? "So I do. Was that the pat on the back you were offering?" She inquired.
[2:53:08]Seras y Alta: "Something approaching that at least. The thing the Sith seem to get so very wrong is treachery. They don't know anything but that. And even when they try and instil utmost loyalty in their underlings, like us, it only goes so far, and no further than the shadow their fear is cast." There was a pause then as dozens of customs ships and defense forces were converging on the Vengeance. "One moment, I have a call to answer." Seras turned to the terminal and flicked it on, standing there with an amused smile on her face. "Seras y Alta. Ky-Lee Marr. One Super Star Destroyer. It has seen better days unfortunately, and most of the crew will need to be cycled out, the ones still alive for the most part want out and it's my opinion that what went on in here they have more than earned that right." She presented the authentication codes she'd been given before the mission had launched. The customs official, sweating through his uniform nodded and passed the message on up the chain.
[2:58:25]Shaena Karath: "Your Grace, the Vengeance has entered the system apparently under the command of Seras y Alta and one Ky-Lee Marr." An officer reported. Shae had been anxiously awaiting updates on the status of the mission, but she supposed this needed to be fielded. She stood up and in front of a holo-projector. "Ah, good evening Seras. I see that the team you requested went to very good use indeed."
